I bricked my iPhone. Please read.

Hello all,
I have been browsing the forums for a while but i just registerd to ask this question.

I have a 4gb iPhone. I jailbroke it and installed app.installer. I dl'ed sim unlock via that software. Ran the application, it took about 3 mins and it said it failed. I took it that my iphone didn't unlock. I have never used any other sim other than ATT.
I upgraded to the new FW 1.1.1.... and i got the infamous error of a bricked iphone.

I was able to get the 1.02 FW through the recovery method back on their, but the phone/edge/sms doesn't work.

Is their a known fix for this?

nope, not at the moment anyways! maybe you could reunlock it by doing the unlock.app? just an idea. I have avoided the new firmware so I cant speak out of experience.

THERE IS NO WAY (so far) TO GET BACK THE GSM/WIFI/EDGE FUNCTION IF YOU DOWNGRADE FROM 1.1.1

If you had done a SIMPLE search, you would have found out so very very fast....that search button is up there for a reason. Also there's a sticky URGING you NOT to upgrade to 1.1.1 if you software unlock. Also if i recall correctly unlock.app (and maybe anySIM? ) can give you an error and STILL unlock the iphone.

So...bottom line is...before you go gun-ho with a $299 piece of kit, read up.

I'm on the same boat, did exactly the same thing you did and same error too.

Thank god i had a backup phone though, otherwise i'd be really really angry.

Best thing we can do now is just 'wait' and 'donate' so these hackers can come up with a solution. Which i have faith that they will, it's only a matter of time.

Why are you so fired up for? I didn't commit a crime by posting this, just unlocking my phone.
I didn't see anyone with the same situation, or as exact as mine. So relax my man, I just wanted to see if mine had a better chance.

There are TONS of people in the same spot as you are, and most of them seem impervious to the Search button and its usage.

If you would bother to SEARCH, you would have found out ALL the info you needed.

People that dont bother to search and start new threads for the same thing only clog up the forum and push people's posts that actually have something new to tell to the bottom.

So i believe i have every reason to be fired up...
