I am having a problem getting edge to work on my jailbroken and unlocked 2g iphone. When I originally unlocked it back when it had 1.1.3 the edge would work. Now that I have continued to update and update I now have the 2.2 and somewhere along the lines have loss the use of edge. I would like the option to have it if I need it. Does anyone know how I can get edge working again?

so if i understand you are on a jailbroken iphone, you are not unlocking it right since your carrier is ATT
since you on ATT, this means you are forced to have the Data plan which is 20 to $30.

this means you ahve Edge by default and you can not remove that plan from your package because youa re with ATT.

what model iphone do you have 2g or 3g?

steps to try
with itunes, shift click restore firmware 2.2
once 2.2 is on the iphone.
verify you see an edge icon.
can you surf the web?

do not jailbreak jsut yet. first verify your edge is working.

login to your ATT wireless plan site and verify you have data plan turned on, i can't imagine why it would not be there since you an ATT subscriber but if there is no data plan then EDGE won't work for you.

if edge works after restoring to 2.2, then pwn it and verify if edge works after pwning.

No see I have the 2g iphone and right when I got the phone I unlocked and jailbroke the phone. The edge still worked though. I have never purchased any agreement with att for the iphone and never had the data/texting package through att. As far as they know I am still using a razor phone. But since I have updated to the 2.0 and 2.1 and 2.2 my Edge stopped working. Everything else works fine just my edge is messed up. Any ideas how to fix this. I am currently on the 2.2 firmware.
