    Default HW unlock technical questions

    Hi,

I already read all the hw unlock guides available and I understand the process.
But I have some technical questions because I like to know what is happening behind the scenes to understand how things works.
So these are my questions and I think several people on this forum have the same questions but they just follow the steps to unlock the iphone without the need of having an answer.

1- What does iEraser do, What part of the NOR it erases, (part of the bootloader, part of the firmware)?
2- What does iUnlocker do when we connect the needles to the test points, technically speaking?
3- What does bbupdater do, it updates part of the bootloader, part of the firmware?
4- What does the AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" and AT+CLCK="PN",2 do?

    Thanks,

    THEJACKAL

    Hi,
this is explained exactly on geohot's blog: http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Have a look at the single steps - there you can find all information that is known. I'm sure that no one has more information about this than geohot and his fellow hackers
