HUGE problem after opening iPhone....HELP!
Hey everyone...
I'm freaking the f^&k out right now, let me explain:
I opened the phone to do the Geo unlock - all appeared to be fine.
When I went to check and make sure everything was still working, here is what I have found:
The entire bottom portion of the iPhone is non-functional.
The mic, speaker, USB and Home Button are not working at all.
Any ideas how I might have done this? Anyone know of a fix for this?
I can't connect to the PC even through the dock and the USB plugged into the wall power supply isn't working either....
Am I bricked, or does anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds like you forgot to connect that ribbon cable back, but I don't know - I've never opened one.

Let's start from the beginning,
what tools did you use to open the phone?
Is it currenty open?
Did you pinch any wires that you can see?
Did you pry at the dock connector first and maybe bend any of the pins?
In my opinion you will need to open the phone again, and check all is intact. Please let us know how it fares.

Used a guitar pick for opening the case and a kitchen knife for the screws.
The unit is still open -
The only thing I did was lift up the logic board (I know, I shouldn't have done that) but I carefully replaced the ribbon cables to their respective connectors.
When I power up the phone, touch screen and display works - sound comes through headphones - but home button doesn't work, no WIFI, and no speaker sound.
Hope I didn't screw my Comm chip....
ANy ideas?

Sounds to me like you might have cracked something on the logic board...do you have a magnifying glass?, if so try and inspect it to see if you can spot anything...how much pressurre did you apply when you lifted?
-
I don't think enough to have cracked it, but anything is possible...
Any other possibilities aside from that that you can think of?
Meanwhile, I'll examine the board....

Disconnect and reconnect all the ribbon cables... One of them is probably not seated properly.
-
OK, no signs of cracks on the logic or communications boards.
I'm losing my mind trying to figure this out!!
Anyone else have any ideas?

I am an idiot. The ribbon leading into the black locking bar wasn't connected properly. Was having trouble seeing that one.
Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
Thanks for the help and advice!!!!
I love this place!
