One more point. I think the way this unlock will work is that you might need physical possession of the customer's iphone in order for this to work. You have to install the app software on the customer's iphone, and that means minimum jailbreak. Then the software has to connect via wifi internet to do the unlock. Seems like a lot to ask for many users to do over e-mail/phone. I think that if the software is real, then they are probably going to use resellers in certain geographical areas to do the unlock in person. That way the reseller can control the whole process of the unlock.

    For God's sake.

He is doing what all of us want. What all of us have waited for. He is providing a software unlock.

As iphonesimfree is NOT selling to the end user, there has to be a reseller. That reseller for us is trash. If it all goes tits up he has a hell of a lot of fees and shit to pay. The thing is though, he has the balls to take the risk. In the process he make make a couple of quid profit and good luck to him.

I want to repeat hak's question: Have you received the proforma invoice and bank details? Did iphonesimfree contact you? Did you transfer the money to iphonesimfree or do we have to wait weeks?

The customers will mostly have come from here. Therefore they will already have jailbroken their iphones so it won't be an issue. Sure there are going to be some that haven't and can't and then they will pay a premium to a retail outlet to perform the function.

iphonesimfree will likely not care where the reseller is. It will be the resellers responsibility to ensure that the end user gets what they pay for. iphonesimfree only need to ensure that the product works and they deliver it to the reseller.

I must just say that I am in no way affiliated with trash, other than I am waiting for my licence. I am sick and tired of people who have nothing better to do than moan about everything. If you don't like it don't buy it.

Why would you need to send it in to them?

(This is how I presume it will work)

    1. You send your phones IMEI code to the reseller.
    2. The reseller sends it to IPSF.
    3. IPSF program it into their server to allow the phone with that IMEI to connect to their server.
    4. Reseller gives you the app to unlock it, you then use the app on your phone while connected to a wifi connection and unlock your phone.

I want to clearify my position. I am not in anyway against the software unlock, and I am not against anyone making money. In fact I hope the software unlock is real. The only thing I am concerned about is selling something that you don't know 100% exists. Normally when you buy or sell something, you should have 100% confidence that it exists (ie., seen, touched, tried the sample). It is just unethical to sell something on speculation.

When you work with distribution and resellers, you need to care where they are so that that you can cover the market properly. You want to make it lucrative enough for resellers so that they continue and provide a level of service that results in satisfied customers. If they appoint too many resellers than there will be an oversupply resulting in lower profit margins - causing resellers to provide a lower level of service. From what I gather, iphonesimfree has had thousands of enquiries/hits etc and that means that there are thousands of iphone owners looking for an unlock. Statistically, the majority of them will need a retail outlet to do the unlock. Therefore iphonesimfree should care about where the resellers are. Its the reality of the market.

I take your point onboard but, I think this is exceptional circumstances.

You also need to remember that he/she is in effect only taking pre-orders. No money has at this point changed hands. Once they have verified that it:-

    a) Exists
    b) Works

Then payment will change hands for a physical working product.

Your point #4 is why most will need to send the iphone in. You need to jailbreak the phone to install the app. Aside from the few hundred who frequent this forum, the thousands who want the unlock won't be technical enough to do this, and the lightly technical who screw somethiing up will need support.
