who's to say apple will unlock them? The bottom line is in order to have an activated phone you need a contract with at&t.

100% it will be through iTunes as something purchasable in the music store. if there was a way to bring up the nck code entry menu we would have found it by now.

You don't need an NCK code menu entry screen, as it's pretty easy to enter it in minicom.

No, it won't be the Anysim approach. What they'll do, is exactly what IPSF did. That is, they'll flash the EEPROM giving it the unlock code and inform the phone that it's now unloaded. Each future firmware upgrade will do as it does now -- interrogate the EEPROM to find out it's lock/unlock status, and then overwrite the BB with either an unlocked/locked BB version.
The AnySim unlock is version specific and will need to updated each time. The IPSF unlock is the closest thing to a permanent unlock that exists -- that is, until Apple upgrades until iPhone v2.

i dont think they will give out a code or something like that, cuz they will keep getting more contracts around the world, next year in mexico we are gonna have the iPhone, and its gonna be by contract so its not reliable to just give away a code to unlock, the most possible way i think its that apple unlocks their phones in store
