Currently I'm using an operator which offer an unlimited GPRS plan, is there anyway to know if their stations is capable for EDGE or just GPRS ? There are GPRS information in the field test mode, but I don't know how to read those information on that menu.

I use speedtest.... not sure whether it's accurate or not

gprs and edge usually have different apn and username and pass they will only work on whichever you entered

I entered the username and password settings on my iphone for O2 UK GPRS but I get the Edge icon and can connect.

All Edge is is just a software update / patch from GPRS, essentially is the same thing

E just means internet it comes up just the same for gprs edge is abit faster

Just switched from a carrier which only support GPRS to another with EDGE, the network test result bump from average 45Kbps to over 130Kbps. The experience is a lot better!
