Read from some threads that Iphone does not support this.
You have to manually copy it to the comp then transfer them into the Iphone.

No way to do it from the iPhone. You'll have to sync your contacts to your PC using PC Suite (or equivalent s/w) saving contacts to Windows Address Book or Outlook. Then sync the WAB or Outlook contacts thru iTunes to your iPhone (it's in the iTunes sync options). I did and it was very easy but unbelievable really that you can't access the SIM dir from directly from your iPhone.

It seems logical in Apple point of view. They provide the SIM that is supposed to work with the iPhone. So the sim is empty. No reason for them to have an app to import anything.

jacoch: Fair point from Apple's perspective.

Maybe now that they know the iPhone is easily unlocked, they may find it in their hearts to add this feature in a future update. LOL

It depends also how the iPhone will be sold in Europe. If Apple let people use their own sim, an import function could be useful. Although I have the contacts on the phone and synced with my computer since my first smartphone back in 99.
