how to REAL disable EDGE?

hi

my carrier (switzerland, sunrise) got a interesting option for mobile surfing.
7.5 CHF/month for 50mb (and 0.03CHF for additional 20kb each), which is about 9$/month. sounds fair to me.

however, sunrise GPRS/EDGE works with any APN, username, passwort, meaning you cant just leave the inputfields empty to not connect to the internet, which also means services.app wont work.

is there another way to disable EDGE and just enable it if needed?

None other as far as i know.

1.1.1 has an EDGE disabling option so hopefully we will see it "ported" to 1.0.2 soon.
