How many hardware unlocked iPhones are out there?
Hey guys! Just out of curiosity...
I've got a 4 GB iPhone, unlocked on August 28th in the Faroe Islands.

A lot.
Process is pretty straight forward I think. The hardest part really for me was taking the damn thing apart. I still can't figure out a good way to remove the antenna cover (the silver piece was easy). I know it slides off but it seems like you have to pry it first.

I just wonder if Apple will release 1.03 to overwrite the unlock. It would be stupid for Apple to do it, since I know this is only helping their sales. I'm sure AT&T is nagging at them to patch it ASAP though. Stupid contracts. Apple should have just sold it as an unlocked phone to work with any GSM provider.

I think it's pretty simple with these tools:
Products ordered:
iPod Opening Tools
Quantity: 1
Price: $2.95
Phillips #00 Screwdriver
Quantity: 1
Price: $4.95
Metal Spudger
Quantity: 1
Price: $2.95
I've ordered them from iFixit.com.

I actually just ordered those too. Well, the iPod Opening tool (two sets), metal spudger, and a heavy duty spudger incase I get pissed. ;P
The antenna cover was a pain though. I mean, if you pry it at all it seems like the clips that hold the metal back casing and the plastic antenna cover will bend/break real easily.
