Default How long should my battery last? (a concern...)

OK, so I had my iPhone fully charged. I took it off the charger this morning and took it to my car. It paired with my in-car hands-free headset via Bluetooth and remained paired.

So, phone fully charged, BT on. Took off charger at 6:30am. Paired with my hands-free for 1 hour 20. I made maybe 55 minutes of calls via BT, and maybe 10 minutes of EDGE internet surfing. I got to class. and was in class from 9:05 -> 1:15pm. I made maybe 60 minutes of calls on the way home, and used the EDGE Internet for about 25 minutes as well.

So, total talk time for about 2 hours, and EDGE Internet (T-Zones) for maybe 35 minutes. BT on the whole time.

By now, 5:30pm, my battery is pretty darn low. Maybe 30%. I haven't gotten the low battery warning.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal usage battery life?

    Thanks in advance

I reckon that's about right, and that's what my Nokia 8800 would about have given before I switched.

The killer is the talking over BT. Pretty much all phones ought to come with a warning; BT sucks battery life - and talking over BT really kills it. I got a nokia charger wired into my car and now I have the same with an iphone adapter - it's just not worth trying to keep BT going for long without power.

Kill the BT part of your steps and suddenly even with everything else you'll get 48 hours+. Better still get a car charger for use with BT.

Right, thanks for the clarification. I do have a car charger actually, but I'm loathe to use it because of my battery paranoia. Apple batteries definitely have a negative stigma attached to them, and being non-replaceable I'm a big fan of just charging once a day, at night when I'm asleep.

    Thanks for the reply.
