How to get Bluetooth working?
Hallo,

that the bluetooth of the iphone works with apple devices only.
so my major question is - is it possible to get it full working with
some small hacks semilar to the youtube stuff?

I don't know where you've read that, but it's not true. The iPhone bluetooth works fine with any bluetooth headset.

I think he means that the Bluetooth functions' connectivity part is limited. Fx. you can't send files from iPhone to another phone via BT.
However I don't doubt it's hackable - it's just software.

Yeah, maybe that's what he meant, but what he read is still not true then.
No bluetooth profiles other than headset are on the iPhone, so the "works with apple devices only" bit is still not accurate. Anything outside headset functionality will not work with any device right now.
I'm trying to stay optimistic and lump this into the "updates are coming from Apple" bucket. I find the hypothesis that since the iPhone's core is somewhere between Tiger and Leopard, that once they get Leopard pretty close to gold, more core enhancements to the iPhone will be pushed out plausible. Further into this wishful thinking is a proper bluetooth stack that supports OBEX and other stuff. It would stand to reason that the OBEX support wouldn't make sense without a proper finder on the phone, and changes to things like the phone app to support contact transfers, so I could see why they would want to release an update like this as a fairly large one. They would also spend a fair amount of time testing this, so another month or two isn't out of the question for a timeframe for this.
Of course, this is total speculation, and it may come down to hackers to really make the iPhone shine.

yeah true, it was a mistake of mine, it seems to be limited
to headsets only. i don't understand why the iphone has
so many restrictions like for mms and bluetooth.
beside the slow edge connect its the most annoying point
