How to free up 'OTHER' space of unknown origin?
The other day I was using Installer for something, and afterwards I was presented with 750 mb of "Other" stuff. iTunes tells me the that I have 5.65 GB of 'Audio', 862.1 MB of
'Free Space', but 767.4 MB of 'Other'.
I am running 1.0.2 unlocked, don't have any NES roms installed, and really don't have too many 3rd party apps installed. If I do delete any 3rd party apps, or add to them, that 700 mb goes up or down.
Can anyone give me a clue (without) restoring, about how to get that 700 mb back?

No, never even heard of that.

I think it would be better to restore.
Remember that iTunes keeps a backup of your iPhone
when it syncs.

Are you saying if I restore and backup, that the backup will still have those 'Other' stuff?
-
no, if you restore, all should be fine - BUT you'll have to redo all 3rd party apps + activation (unlock remains)

Yes, the backup contains your info, messages, I mean, just the info, the music is from the pc folders.
The unlock remains, you have to re activate, which right now its quite easy in Windows or Mac, (I prefer Mac and independence), for Windows use iBrickr.
The "other" data should dissapear after the restore.

Might be time for me to try going to 1.1.1 again. I tried it with jailbreakme before, but never got it to work. There is just so much information out there all over the place.
If I virginize my 1.0.2 iphone unlocked with AnySim to T-Mobile, can I use the procedure mentioned on this post: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14384
