i am trying to tell the iphone to resolvea certain domain in a certain ip address, so i wanna force the resolution of a name into a specific ip address.
does anyone know how to do it?

You need to edit your phones HOSTS file. you can find this by SSH'ing into your phone at location: /private/etc
Dont deelte or edit any of the lines that are currently there, just add a new one to the bottom.

Example:

192.168.1.5 www.staceppa.com

the hosts file does not work for safari, it only works for other networking applications like ping, telnet and so on.
i have tried it but it does not work (did a reboot, cleared the cache, it simply does not work!)
any other ideas?
