Default How to downgrade from "stock" 2.2 to 1.1.4 on iPhone 2G

How to downgrade from "stock"(original itunes downloaded and upgraded) 2.2 to 1.1.4 on iPhone 2G

I have upgraded first to 2.0 and then 2.1 and 2.2 and the performance was very BAD. Don't get me wrong, but 1.1.4 has been in my book the best, and all that Itunes Apps jazz is only for kids... i could not find anything that i REALLY needed.

THIS IS MY STORY SO DO NOT BASH ME IF IT DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU.

    Here goes:

    1. Get Itunes 8 and update to 2.2, no jailbreak .. no nothing... just plain old 2.2 (people already on 2.2 can skip this)

    2. Take out the sim.

    3. Find a clean computer with XP.

    4. Download a) Winrar(www.winrar.com)
    b) Itunes 7.6.2 ( http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/ )
    c) Itunes 7.5.0 ( http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/ )

    5. Install Winrar with the default options.

    6. Install Itunes 7.5.0 with the default options.

    7. Restart XP.

    8. Right click on Itunes 7.6.2 "ItunesSetup.exe" and Click "Extract to..." from the winrar context menu. (the exe in fact contains same .msi installers)

    9. From the folder where you extracted Double Click and install "AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi"

    10. Now you have Itunes 7.5 with the drivers from 7.6.2.

    11. Download the 1.1.4 firmware from apple's site

    http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....2_Restore.ipsw

    12. Put the Iphone in DFU mode. (Power + Home buttons for 10 sec then another 10 sec for the home button)

    13. Start Itunes and connect the Iphone.

    14. Shift + Click on Restore and select the 1.1.4 file.

    15. It will finish with error 1015 and it will be stuck on recovery mode.

    16. Download iBricker from http://ibrickr.com/downloads/ibrickr_v0.91.zip

    17. Connect the Iphone. Close Itunes. Open iBricker. Click on the first option to Boot the Phone (the red and green screen story). The phone will boot and now you have a clean 1.1.4.

    18. Use iLiberty+ or zIphone to Jailbreak, Activate.

    The end.
