Question How to down grade firmware to earlier version?

I just think if Apple updated firmware, which might render the GeoHot method invalid.

Do we have a way to down grade firmware as least back to current situation. still enjoy the unlocked iPhone.

For me, I lost WiFi and can not get it back. Maybe I have to try 1.0 firmware to do the HW unlock. see how it goes.

For the former, in iTunes holding SHIFT down while clicking "Restore" will allow to select which restore file to apply (it must be in local hard drive)

For the latter, I'm afraid I can't help

Default 1.0.2 to 1.0.1 OK, to 1.0 FAIL

From 1.0.2 to 1.0.1 has no problem
Neither from 1.0.2 nor 1.0.1 can down grade to 1.0 firmware

Maybe it is not down gradable between the different Modem firmware

    That's my result here.

Yes, I discovered this the hard way a few weeks ago when trying to roll back to v1.0 in order to do some testing. Unfortunately, the iTunes "restore" process never completed the firmware portion of the rollback, hanging in the process.

I finally managed to put v1.0.1 back on at that time, but ever since I've been through this process, I've actually be unable to get any cellular service. Even within range of an AT&T tower, the phone would refuse to activate.

Now, with the dev team unlock out, I seem to be having the same problem even after going through the unlock process.... The iPhone accepts my SIM card with no issues, and in fact my correct phone number even shows up in iTunes when I connect it, but the phone itself is stuck in a perpetual "No Service" mode no matter what I try.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated... It worked just fine on an AT&T GoPhone plan whenever I was in AT&T coverage before I attempted the downgrade, but has not been able to get any cellular service ever since.
