how to dowgradge Baseband on 1.0.2 on a mac ??

I already started unlocking my phone and everything went smoothly save for the fact that I am stuck in ACTIVATION.

I am using a PUBLIC WIFI (since I only have a broadband connection at home and have not bought a wifi router yet). Since the iPhone is on "activate mode"
I CANNOT GET THE IP ADRESS FROM THERE. (i tried using the one which shows fr my laptop but it doesnt work )
I am stupid enough NOT to take note of it when I jailbroke the phone. So now I cannot run the WinSCP.. (I am aware that I need to use it until the end)

1.ANYWAY I COUD GET AROUND THIS? or should i start from zero?

so this is the way i'd do it (don't know how far you've gotten already)...but first, you are on 1.0.2 firmware right? you can confirm by making an emergency call and inputting "*3001#12345#*" (remember the *) and press call. If your firmware is 03.14, you're good to go.

then i'd do a restore to 1.0.2 (in case you have 1.0.0).

basically, you have to jailbreak, i use ibrickr...follow the instructions and click files, go to the iphone screen on the right and go to /usr/libexec/.


upload file named lockdownd, when it's done, restart the phone and it will go to the home screen w/o activation.

then connect to wifi and get the ip address.

Joyce, public wifi will not allow you to connect your iphone to your computer, unless your computer is also on the same wifi network. It will work better if you get a cheap wifi router, one that costs less than $50, hook it up and now you have your very own wifi network such that your computer will be able to see your iPhone. Hope this helps...
