Default How Do I Move Buttons?

The last thread I started got hijacked, so this one is just about how to move buttons. Someone posted a screen shot after moving the Safari button off the bottom row.

exNavy posted this useful tidbit which I'll try out as soon I can break from file system jail again:

Easy to do. Just go into "System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/" and modify the "DisplayOrder.plist" that is all. Then you can add your own icon within the "/Application/FieldTest" folder.

There is an image of what he did, this shows the field test menu as having its own icon and being located on the springbroard in the last row.

Don't ask me how to do this yet, those are all the notes I have. I'll get around to screenshotting this mod next.
I'll post after I try it.

I just got back in. I see the SpringBoard.app. Is the plist in that file? I also see SystemVersion.plist, but that doesn't sound right.

How do I get the file over to the Mac so I can edit the plist? The only commands listed in help are:

help - this, also help startservice and help readvalue
    ls - list directories
    cd - change directory
    mkdir - make directory
    rmdir - remove directory
    deviceinfo - get device info
    fileinfo - get file info
    readvalue - read a value
activate - activate iPhone with plist
    deactivate - deactivate iPhone
startservice - start service on iPhone
enterrecovery - Enter recovery Mode **WARNING: YOU'LL NEED TO RESTORE**
    quit - exit shell

There's no getfile, but I tried anyway (since putfile isn't listed either).

    Help...

I found this list of files in the firmware:

    http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/ind...dDirectoryList

Apparently there's a way to get the files from the firmware. Then we could modify the SpringBoard.app and put it onto the iPhone. I just don't know how to extract the file from the firmware. I tried mounting the .dmg files. The -38 wasn't recognized and -39 required a password.

Anyone know how to get the original SpringBoard.app file? Is it posted somewhere?

maccabbi started a thread with everything you need to decrypt the SpringBoard.app and change the position of the buttons.
