Hi
If you have upgraded to 2.1 you will have loss the Installer app
You will now need to use Quickpwn to Activate / Jailbreak the 2.1 fw
P.s
I guess when you say "My 2G iphone has been upgraded to the new 3G software" you mean from older 1st gen firmware to 2.1 1st gen firmware?-

Restore to firmware 2.1 (by the way it is 2G), then use Quickpwn to jailbreak, activate and get installer on the iPhone. unlock will remain cause the baseband did not change. Originally Posted by curtisbcm Read the stickies and search the forum before posting!

After you update to 2.1 you need to use Quickpwn to add installer and Cydia again
