WOW!!!
considering the things asked here, i'm really suprised no one asked this till now...

it's kinda complicated so bear with me...

first you have to find your iphone cable thingy (lets just call it a dock for now)

place your iphone at an angle of 29 degrees (this is important!!!! iphone tilt senors are really sensitive)

connect your iphone to you computer

as soon as you hear the "ding" start chanting...O mighty iphone gods, please download my photos (this is critical!!! if you don't do this then you'll have to verginize/restore and start over again)

depending on air temp/humidity/crude oil prices if you followed all the steps in 5-10 s you will be presented with a windows asking you what you want to do with your photos

I think you never has made photos with an IPhone or you use not only iTunes.

You need addional software for this. With itunes you can copy photos from the pc to the iphone. The photos are also copied to the pc but are all together in one file with can't be read without extra software.

You can read the photos direct on a mac with iPhoto. On Windows you can use for example ACDsee.

Windows will recognize the iPhone as a HDD and the camera wizard will open and walk you through the download to your computer

you apparently haven't used a PC since win 3.1 days.
GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU POST.

1)itunes DOES NOT COPY PHOTO"S FROM YOUR iPHONE when you have any photo's in your camera roll your "iPhone" is detected as a "Camera" and treated as one

2) wtf is the camera and scanner wizard there for
