    Default How Do I Delete My Host Keys?

    I need to know, because I cannot connect to my iphone over ssh. So i need to delete these. Every bit of help would be amazing. Thanks

    they are in your home folder:

    on terminal:

    sudo rm -f /Users/yourusername/.shh/known_hosts

    How are you trying to connect to your iPHone? Using ssh from Linux/Mac? If that's the case, the previous user's response should do the trick.

    ya im using mac over ssh i just need to know what to type in to delete the hosts once i ender that first command

    using finder go to.... go ----> go to folder . then type in /Users/"yourusername"/.shh/known_hosts ...filling in "yourusername" with your user name...once in that folder drag the know hosts file to the trash...you should be good to go.

    I did this, but came up with no folder. Any other ideas? I really need ssh Thanks

    1. Open up Terminal in your Mac

    2. Assuming that you have logged in as yourself and not the root user, enter
    cd ~/.ssh

    3. Delete the file by entering:
    rm known_hosts

    Alternatively, if you don't want to delete the whole file, you can just remove entry in the file that relates to your iPhone (check for the IP address of your iPhone in that file). I don't know how proficient you are with using command like-based text editor like vi.

    Okay, sry if I seem slow haha. im not got with the terminal at all. Do i need the iPhone pluged in while i do this? and also what is the like........ exact way to do this because i keep getting no known directory in the terminal. Thanks so much!!

    Run this command in terminal and send me the output:

    pwd
