I have my hacked 2G iphone setup with bluetooth GPS that took a bit of tinkering to get going as well as the rest of my hacks. Is there anyone out there that would be will to send me a unique certificate so that I don't have to restore mine? I would definitely appreciate it.

Hypothetic Situation:
I have installed unique certs on an hacktivated phone and everything's working OK. Now there's a new firmware update. I use pwnage tool to create a custom hactivated unlocked firmware, then restore using iTunes, and then restore my phone from backup in iTunes. Would that give me back the certs I used before the firmware restore and Push will keep working right away?
I'm thinking yes because the wifi passwords are always backed up and restored by iTunes...

Best practice is not to restore from backup in iTunes. Always setup as new phone.

NO. that won't give you back your cert.
You should save your unique certs elsewhere and copy it back to the phone after a firmware restore.

This has nothing to do with the certs. They are created on the fly once when you configure the phone.

Unfortunately I like when I have my pictures in photos camera roll, and also when I can keep the database of all wifi passwords. These two things are what I could never achieve without restoring from backup. If there's a way by now, I'd love to use it instead.

The best part of restoring the iPhone and NOT restoring the backup is that possible problems are gone. There are so many horror stories around that it's impossible to be 100% safe.

The problem is that Apple backup is not "selective": all files in the user area are restored and that may present problems are the structure of these files may have changed.

There are ways around to preserve things like notes, pictures, etc. Just search and you will find it.

I got push working, using unique certs according to this guide. But now I notice that youtube doesn't work. I used pwnagetool 3.1.4 to jailbreak and hacktivate at the beginning of the process so how is it possible that push works and youtube doesn't? what do I need to do now?

That is very strange... Did you have four .bin files in the directory when you ran inject?

Did you delete the keychain file?

Yeah I had four. I didn't remove keychain file - do I have to?
In any case I tried it now again (even though without removing push apps - just to check the youtube part). I did remove keychain now, and after the inject and reboot youtube still doesn't work. Now I know it does work after pwnagetool and restore of the owned FW.
What could it be? certs problem? (the push does work!)

Now it seems like I have it fixed. It's very strange though. What I did is put back on the iPhone an old version of keychain-2.db - one that I know had youtube working. This indeed fixed youtube but push stopped working.
Then I did again inject of the 4 cert files. I did that without removing push apps or turning off push. Now youtube and push are working. Moreover I believe all passwords from keychain are also intact.
Now I don't want to confuse anyone and to say push apps don't have to be removed prior to prcess, or that keychain doesn't have to be removed - but I have no explanation why what I did works.
I can only assume keychain contains what's needed for youtube, but not for push? or does inject just alter the current keychain without losing data?
