Back it up before you start as removing this also removes saved wifi and safari passwords plus the passcode on the iPhone.

I have tried this about 8 or 9 times now and I am not getting unique certs (as far as I can tell) when I do it. There may need to be time between activations or something. I changed the .bin to .cer and looked at the information and all the setts I wasted my time doing yesterday were the same everything. I am using an iPod Touch 2G to do this on. I know that it can generate unique certs, because this is the same iPod that I JB and grabbed the certs from about a month ago, they are different than the ones I did yesterday... I tried almost all combinations of the sequence. turn off push, uninstall app, delete files in keychain and lockdown directorys, reboot, activate, reinstall app, turn push on, execute nimble, and the certs were the same. I tried with and without uninstalling app/turn off push, I tried with and without deleting things in the keychain folder... I am stumped. I am going to try it again later this afternoon to see if time (36 hours) works.

I have been testing the following setup aswell. Besides deleting the complete Lockdown folder in /private/var/root/Library/ I have been deleting everything inside /private/var/Keychains exept nimble.

After activating again with iTunes the complete Lockdown folder gets re-created plus keychain stuff. Only disadvantage is that you have to type in the wifi password again cause it is saved inside keychain db. The iPhone remembers WiFi settings (static ip...) cause they're sitting in different locations.
I have been able to create new certs without any glitch.

Volkspost seems now after others have used the same firmware I mentioned in the other thread. Now push is completely broken for me. Looking around for information to a solution. I came across this site Pushfix.info

By the looks this fellow is selling certs ? Not sure if this is another selling of others work. But thought I would mention here & others might have facts about this site.

We have discussed this site before. The procedure on this page achieves the same result as his certificates. Both produce legitimate certificates, the procedure documented here is free. Whereas pushfix.info is selling certificates.

I thought I would chime in here and explain. For one, neither dtube nor Aviegas nor I stole anything from each other. I have been generating certificates since the end of September. Look at my posts on macrumors.com to see that I was offering free certs as part of a test on October 4th. Search for "Need a couple testers for REAL push notification fix" on macrumors.

I had lost my job and was looking for something to get some much needed income in this terrible economy. I am selling my time, included in the price of the certificates I sell. The certificates are basically free. My time covers the $5.99 I currently charge because I spend whatever time is necessary to get every last user running. I could charge some $2 and some $40 because it took much longer. Is that fair? I don't know. All I know is that most people don't seem to mind the price and it keeps my bills paid (barely), instead of losing everything I own. I think any of you would do the same in my situation.

I have nothing against anyone here promoting other *working* fixes. I am against fixes such as the push fix at cydia.iphoneil.net. As everyone knows, that fix is useless and only breaks your keychain. I gave them some free certs and they agreed my fix worked and theirs did not. They took down their fix for a few days and then put it back up again, going against everything they told me.

They KNOW the fix doesn't work, but they are still providing it. I gave them instructions and even a youtube.deb file that served as a YouTube only fix for blackra1n. They ignored it.

If anything, users here would benefit from my FAQ and public solutions regarding other push problems, all of which are freely available.

There are many other things that cause problems with push besides just having the right certificates. Take a look at the Ping! FAQ or the WhatsApp FAQ to see that legitimate users also have many problems with push.

I provide support for push notifications on every carrier in the world. Some problems have taken days to solve, requiring the user to do packet capture of their cell data connection and I then analyze the capture to see what's wrong.

Not many iPhone app developers provide a ticket system with fast response to any tech support questions. Most app developers sell you the app for 99 cents or $1.99 and you never hear from them. I can't totally blame them because for that much money no one can provide support.

When I have my app done (I knew -zero- about iPhone programming in September) and it accommodates all my knowledge about fixing push, my support will be much lower and I will lower the price to reflect how much support I have to provide.

I'm just trying to make a living and if anyone wants to hate me for it, I can't stop you. That's not directed at Olethros, it's directed at any haters out there that can't stand anyone making a few dollars for their hard work.
