    My case..

    Iphone 3G, activated with the original and valid carrier, then blackrained (for Cydia & Rock).

    Push notifications does not worked... installed and unistalled time ago the Push Fix via Cydia, of course, it did not work.

    Now, for generating new certificates... I follow following steps:

    11) Remove all files and folders in "/private/var/root/Library/Lockdown"

    12) Turn "Push notifications" OFF and remove the PUSH APP you installed

    13) Reboot the iPhone
    Problem is that when rebooting, ITunes connects normally, identifies the iPhone correctly and does not ask for activation... and what is worst... I loose my carrier service (no signal, no service).

    Fortunately, as I keep a copy of the original Lockdown files, I moved again via SSH and I can get carrier service again, but of course, without valid certificates...

    Do you have any idea of what the problem is ?

    You need to remove the keychain-2.db file... the certificates are stored in this file. It also stores your wifi password and your mail/safari saved passwords.

    If you have sqlite installed from Cydia, you don't need to remove the keychain file as you can just remove the certificates with the command below.

    Code:
    sqlite3 /var/Keychains/keychain-2.db <<EOF
    delete from keys where labl = 'APSClientIdentity';
    delete from cert where labl = 'APSClientIdentity';
    EOF

    I have a hacktivated iPhone 3G with backra1n/blacksn0w with T-Mobile US. I did the "Push Cert Surgery" a long time ago and push was working perfect. Recently, it seems to only work sometimes. It stopped working completely but after a reboot and running the app, push started working. BUT I had to do this more than once now. Push works but then it will stop randomly.

    Does anybody know how to solve this?

    Where did you get your certificates from? Did you share them with anyone else?
    Is it primarily one push app that you use?

    ody

    Thanks for your reply. This is great.

    I got my certs from an iPod Touch. No I did not share them with anybody. I use push for 5 push apps.

    Thank you for your help. Any solutions.

    I have tried both SQLite3 method and removing Keychains and iTunes does not ask for activation...

    Any idea?
