How to change my root password "dottie"?

Hi

how can i change the root password dottie?

i am running windows Vista, and i have OpenSSH installed on the iPhone.

Download Putty to SSH into it, and then type the command:

passwd

It will then ask for your new password.

Download INdependence, click on "SSH" tab and then click on "Change Password" button.

Use MobileTerminal, type in
passwd
and then enter a new password.

Also suggested you change the user mobile

There is a way to change it, it involve modifying the passwd file. I can't find the link anymore but there is a website which generate the password you want and convert it to that language.

All you go to do is copy and paste and replace the passwd file.

i tried putty

connected

and when i type "passwd" without the quotes it tells me command not found

You need to have the BSD Subsystem installed via Install.app, look under the System section and then the passwd command will work via putty or via mobile terminal from your iphone.
