Hello, Can anyone tell me how to change the edge setting on a 1.1.2? It's not in the menu. I have done a search b4 anyone starts and there is a thread but it does not answer my question.

The settings current in the Root file are:

Shall i just change them in here? I have a Uk 1.1.2 working on 02 pay and go and want the correct edge settings in there..

Why not just change them and see if it works ?
If things don't work out you are not worse off then now, right ?

Tricky that apple removed the settings in favour of the "hardwired" Settings :-)

Cans omeone explain how the hell to keep the 1.1.2 STOCK EDGE settings so they can be moved over to the later upgraded and jailbroken 1.1.2?

Without this EDGE and Visual Voicemail on O2 are USELESS.

I have treid just about everything to get the edge to work

Voice Mail via the @visual voice mail is not working, I get the normal you have voicemail call 901 to retreive

now *that* would be horrible, if Apple prevented EDGE to work on non-apple-activated cards/networks...

Nicole: are you 100% sure that your new EDGE settings are okay, did those work with 1.1.1 Firmware ?

If you're using O2 you'll now have an activated, jailbroken iPhone with 1.1.2 firmware (again) and a working phone.

However, VisualVoicemail and EDGE will not work properly - this is easily fixed, simply install BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH using Installer.app and then SSH into the iPhone and type the following two commands;

rm /var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.carrier.plist

ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/O2_UK.plist /var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.carrier.plist

rm -f /var/root/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

Reboot your iPhone, and all going well you'll now have EDGE and VisualVoicemail working again

You now have a 1.1.2 O2-UK iPhone with all the third party apps you could want. Enjoy

However type in the following commands? Where anyone know? in terminal commands?
