Default [How to] buy an iPhone w/o signing At&T plan ?

    I all
i wont to change from itouch to iphone. but there is 1 open question. is it possible to buy the iphone WITHOUT a contract in the us-retail stores? i know, there is an AT&T sim included, but i dont have to pay anything for that if it is not activated, right?

    thanks a lot!

Buying an iPhone deoes not equal of signing a contract (unless you're doing it thru AT&T store - and even then I am not sure it is mandatory), so yes - there is no additional fee (well, there is a sale tax, but I am quite confident you're aware of that, right?). You have to remember though, that any tampering with your phone voids its warranty. So, if anything happens to it because if your alterations, you are to pay for it out of your pocket.
