I highly doubt it. But hey, you know what you can do to keep you hotmail and use Mail.app?
First open a Gmail account. Set it up with your iPhone. Then in your Hotmail options choose that all your emails be sent as if they were sent from your gmail account.
I am doing that and people [contacts, friends] have seemingly switched sending me emails from hotmail to gmail. I still receive hotmail email but many contacts just hit reply which makes the sender send to Gmail address instead of hotmail address (since the hotmail email is sent as Sent From: XXXXXXXX@gmail.com instead of XXXXXXX@hotmail.com).
That's how I do it, hope it helps

Hotmail is compatible however you have to pay £14.99 per year to activate IMAP and POP3, £1.25 per month for mobile email aint that bad or as others have said (and I've done myself) switch to google mail (interface is crap) :hack:

I've tried to find where I can pay Microsoft the cash for getting IMAP and POP3, but I never get one link to start the membership.
Can you point it out to me?

Ya, Hotmail plus is definitely the way to go with this, not only is it able to be added to the iphone it offers much better mail capacity as well. Many times have I been saved by the higher attachment limit when my local isp cant take a file someone is trying to send to me. For even easier syncing you can add hotmail to Mac or Windows mail and then sync that with the iphone so that you dont have put it the settings every time you restore.
