Hotmail now supported by iPhone, however no SYNC just POP????
Dang, if that's the case it SUCKS big time. I have pulled (poped) my mail on the iPhone and changes I make on it are not reflected back on my actual Web account.
True POP bullshit? Am I daydreaming or is Microsoft completely nuts? After 2 yrs of refusing to acknowledge the iPhone's importance, heck - even presence - now they come up with this??
Someone please pinch me, as I think it ain't real...

Yep, I've tried it out yesterday too.
What happened to me was that I had 135 unread e-mails (on iPhone).....even though those were already read on PC......most of them a year ago or something.
A Very SMART Solution from Hotmail!

That is the very nature of POP. It was not designed to be accessed by different locations. POP is "got there, fetch the mail and delete it". Single client.
All decent email services support IMAP, and if you are looking for a good one, try GMail. Works fine with the iPhone and most popular email clients. You do not need to use their Web interface if you do not like it.
