Is there a problem with modifying UnknownCarrier.plist instead of creating the network specific file? (I believe I read it won't fix the problem across multiple sim cards, but I only have one.)

In my case (FW 1.1.1, apptapp jailbreak, anysim1.1 and "sticky Edge fix), com.apple.carrier.plist was a symbolic link to nothing. There was no UnknownCarrier.plist file in the location pointed to by the symbolic link. There was an UnknownCarrier.plist in /var/root. Modifying this file (changing true to false for ShowCallForwarding) had no effect. But when I copied the modified file to
    /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/UnknownCarrier.plist
and rebooted, the "Forwarding ..." message was gone.

So while I don't understand why UnknownCarrier.plist was not where it was supposed to be, all seems to be working fine. Are you suspecting I may experience problems with this?

Anyone know why Unknown* was not in the Frameworks* directory? Perhaps it had something to do with the Sticky Edge fix, but my Edge settings survived the reboot.

    Thanks
    Thanks
It worked flawless in your way

Hi! Everything worked well as I described before, until I turned off my phone. After I did that, my Edge settings dissapeared, although I have installed edge fix. After I reinstalled edge fix, my edge settings were working fine if I turned off the phone, but call forwarding message appeared again after edge fix installation!! I dont know what to do, because I believe if I turn off call forwarding message again, edge settings will reset again. What to do?? Anyone had this problem before? Thanks!

abtf2's method worked for me (1.1.1, Israel).

At first it broke the edge ability to save settings and when I reinstalled the edge patch, it removed /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/UnknownCarrier.plist and therefore made the popup reappear.

After some playing around with it (reinstalls, copying again, entering the settings in a specific time) I got them to work together.

Could you tell me how could get them to work together (at what specific time) what is the proper thing to do, to get rid of the popup and make sure edge works well?? thanks!
