Hi, I posted a few days ago about a problem with installing apptapp installer 3.1

I have done everything i can searching for answers for the past 3 days straight. I have tried many ideas with no luck.

I have recieved no helpful replys to my post. I dont know if it is because no one knows a fix or no one is reading my post. Please check it out. Im sure there is someone who could help. Thank you.

i think it has to be with your itunes version. Installer 3.x works gr8 with itunes 7.4 try that.

I am using itunes 7.4.2. I cannot load the installer.app to my phone through the apptapp installer. I get the bootstrap failed error.

Anyone know where I can find the actuall installer.app (iphone) file (not the dmg (mac) or exe(pc)) that I can drag to the applications folder on my phone through fugu?

the ibricker site lets you download apptap then you can put the .app in however you like look for the pxl repository

If all attempts fail, then I recommend doing a 'Virgin restore' then unlocking etc again.

I have the installer2.63.pxl file (most recent file on the pxl repository). I was under the assumption that I have to use either Breezy or iBrickr to install a pxl file. As stated earlier, for some reason, I cannot get either to work on my mac or pc. Fugu does work on my mac though. Would I put the pxl file in the applications folder with fugu? Doesnt the .pxl file have to be extracted to a .app file? can it be extracted without Breezy or iBrickr? Am I correct or way off on this one?

change the pxl to zip unzip and you will see the .app folder just upload that

Ok, changing the pxl to zip worked and now I have installer 2.63 on my phone. (thanks gaz919!) I figured once I had that on the phone I could update to 3.1 but either I dont know how or i cant.
I can only find up to 2.63 on the pxl repository. Where do i find the installer3.1.pxl file OR how do I update my 2.63 to 3.1? (I need 3.1 so I can use the latest iTunes)

It is 3.1 that is the latest the installer is just 3.1 or v9 on PC

If your phone is already unlocked then why not just do a restore in itunes? It will remain unlocked and you can then run apptapp 3.1. If your afraid of the reboot problem then you'll never be able to connect to itunes. The only way to tell is to do it. So restore, use independence to activate, run apptapp, then use independence to jailbreak and customize. This should allow you to get everything you want and still be able to use Itunes.
