Help with new ipad
Hi I just bought my first ipad (the new one) and the screen is amazing the the web browser is great but I'm finding it so difficult to do simple things and am thinking maybe I should sell it and wait for the next transformer prime or a windows 8 tablet.
Basically I want to do the following things
read my comic files (cbr/cbz)
watch my video files from my nas (mkv, subtitles, various codecs etc)
On my andorid tab to view comics I can use an app to browse my nas drive and copy over the cbr files I want to read (or connect to a pc and transfer the files manually - more annoying but fine)
From what I can tell with my ipad I need to either use drop box (takes forever to upload the files) or install itunes to transfer files with my pc
No idea what to do about the movies.
If (and when) I jailbreak can I do the above easily?
Really appreciate your help

XBMC will play just about every media format you point it at. Do a quick google search and you'll find the repo you need to add it.
With regard to the CBR/CBZ, I'm in the same boat -- the only ones I can find involve sending files to the cloud, which is a nuisance when I just want to read them on my phone. I hate to say I've not found a good solution to that, so I'm as interested as you are in finding one -- if you come up with something good, please return post about it so I'll know.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out xbmc once I can jailbreak my iPad. For the comics I downloaded filebrowser which is pretty basic and costs some money but allows me to get the files off my nas without having to connect to pc(itunes still not installed yay) or upload to the cloud. I'm not sure if it can copy multiple files to the iPad at once so best to check for that first before buying as copying 100+ files one by one will get boring very quickly
