After messing up with jailbreak and iPHUC, my iPhone dies.. I am really frustrated..

When I use "jailbreak 1.0" to jailbreak my iPhone, it gave me this error message:

Sorry, apparently things just didn't work out.
Look on the bright side, if jail was that good for Paris maybe you should give it a second chance. ;)

And then, I use iActicator to jailbreak. But things just got even worse. iActivator first told me "jailbreak succeeded" but then it said "Connection failed".

Since then, my iPhone dies...

When I press the Sleep Button to start up the iPhone, it shows the silver Apple logo for ridiculously long. Then, iTunes pops up a error message:

iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because an unkown error occured (0xE8000023)

Finally, iPhone did boot up but it is not responding. It shows up the earth wallpaper and then change to a battery view. Interestingly, the clock shows a correct time. Since I connect my iPhone via the iPod universal dock, iPhone pops up a warning message which told me whether to enable the airplane mode.

And this is what my iPhone can do now. After all of that, it shut down.



So how to make iTunes recognize my iPhone to restore the firmware?


I think I will never try to hack my iPhone....

Sounds like your only option is a full restore.

I had something similiar just yesterday whereby I decided Id do some housecleaning of files on the iPhone and deleted some I shouldnt have.

When it booted up, lines of code came up rather than starting to boot!

So I just held down the two buttons (sleep and power), and thankfully the "Please connect to ITunes" message came up where I was able to do a full restore. Worth trying, if all else fails, if your in the US, make up some excuse and bring it back to Apple Store for another one!

When I hold down the two button (Home+Sleep), iPhone does boot up and, unfortunately, it shut down after a few seconds.

And, unfortunately again, I am not in US but in Hong Kong. So I can't ask for an exchange.

Right now, I am trying to hold down the two damn buttons in the following hours and hopefully, I have luck to see the lovely "Please connect to iTunes" message... But I am afraid that I will drain up the battery...

BTW, I am using MacBook, Mac OS X 10.4.10, C2D.

Any help will be really really appreciate... because I beg my Dad a thousand time to buy me a iPhone, but now I broke it...

Is there another way to restore the iPhone. I mean without using iTunes or even without booting the iPhone up?

I really don't know what should I say when my Dad came back home and ask me for the iPhone. *sigh*.

I should really really not hack the iPhone and content with what I can do with it.

To enter the recovery mode, you have to plug your iPhone into the USB adaptor (which comes from the iPhone). I was using the old Firewire adaptor and that is the reason recovery mode does not work.

After you plug it in, iPhone may turn on automatically. Shut it down by pressing the (Home+Sleep) Button.

Then Pressing the two damn button again for same time until you see the lovely (Please connect to iTunes message). Connect it to iTunes immediately, press the restore button and transform it from iBrick to iPhone.

I think this recovery mode should be in the iPhone manual anyway.

But, I still wont try to hack my iPhone after all...
