and it changed my IMEI... now my own SIM isn't recognised and I can't work out how to change my IMEI back to the original number... i have restored the phone back to 1.0.2 a dozen times and it keeps it at the new IMEI... help please....

The IMEI didn't change and can't. The ccid changes.

i should point out also that if i go into the "About" option under settings on the iphone, the ICCID is correct but the IMEI is in fact now different... the files download on the page referenced above (in my first post) have somehow changed my IMEI....

I have to believe you but I find it difficult. I thought changing the IMEI was either impossible or very difficult. My ICCID changes but I have not heard of anyone changing the IMEI number. I will do some research for your problem but hopefully someone more knowlegeable will be able to answer your question.

for anyone who had this issue... i had to go back to square one.... completed restored my iphone using 1.0.2 and even though the IMEI was still wrong i proceeded with independence steps, then appinstaller, then anySIM... i think the anySIM flashing the baseband fixed the problem...
