I used xGPS to download and create an offline version of Google maps of the city where I live to use with Google Maps on my iPhone 4 (running 4.0.1) when there is no wi-fi or 3G connection.

Back in 2.x days, there was a way to "extract" or "export" street names from the maptiles.sqlitdb or .osm file to create a .plist of street names which can be used as bookmarks to search for street names when using the map offline.

Does anyone know how to do this on xGPS (but not OSM that uses non-Google openstreetmaps; I am only interested in using Google Maps) to create such .plist bookmarks of street names that can be used on iPhone 4?
