Who do you have your blackberry through? I had one through tmobile. On the pearl if you go to settings -> advanced -> tcp, you should see the information.

Or, just use wap.voicestream.com . That's what you'll find in the BB menu anyways. No username or password.

    Default Help with EDGE/iphone

Thanks for everybody that has type a message or build a thread on this site, because of all of you I have unlock my iphone in a very easy way.

Right now I have a big problem because I can't setup the EDGE settings in my iphone, the problem is that on my blackberry pearl 8100 there are no EDGE settings, I think that they are integrated directly on the sim card because every time I instert the SIM card I can browse the web directly.

Also I try to call my cell provider and they only give me a GPRS APN configuration and by using that information my cell provider will charge me a lot of money when I use the internet on my iphone.

Does anyone knows how to find the EDGE settings on a blackberry pearl, do you think that the settings are inserted on the SIM, please help me with any suggestion.

thats very weird it does that. it shouldnt do that. all i did is go to settings on my iphone, then general, then network then edge, and then apn and typed in that new code. thats it. never get gprs. i dont think it has anything to do with the sim, but u can always try a fresh new sim card. i work for t-mobile, so tomorrow ill look at the perals see what i can find. i dont remember seeing that setting, but hey, u learn something new every day.

Max ( or anyone else ),

Can you please tell me what steps you followed? I too have the blackberry pearl with T-mobile. I just got my iphone today and don't know where to begin (mac user).

I was also very concerned about currently having the blackberry data plan with T-mobile and how I was going to use EDGE. I was concerned about how it was all going to work and if I was going to have to change data plans or what.

Basically, I don't know how it works having a T-mobile blackberry data plan and switching to use the iPhone. My main concern was having the internet on the iphone and with the current T-mobile blackberry service.

Also I went through the menu on the blackberry as "chrisfromohio" described and the APN, Username for APN and Password for APN are all blank. Anyone, how do we configure EDGE on iphone from T-mobile service with blackberry pearl????

I'm starting from scratch. I haven't even opened the iphone because I don't know where to begin with so many threads/posts which I'm entirely grateful for.

I'm a novice when it comes to all of this. Also new to the boards.

Sorry for being so long winded I've had sooo many questions/concerns since I left the apple store today.

Thanks for any help in advance

    Default to unlock use this

To unlock your iphone use this tutorial:

    http://iphone.unlock.no/

About the edge settings you will have to call your cell provider and ask this:

    APN
    username
    password

This settings are located on settings, network, edge

The blackberry data should not work with the iphone. whats weird is that i have seen posts both one way and another. the easiest way would be to change yo9ur data from bb data to total internet data.

    APN setting is :
    wap.voicestream.com

    no username and no password.

hit me up if you need more detailed instrustions.

    max and carlosvaldosta,

Thanks sooo much for your help.

    carlosvaldosta...

I do have a couple of T-mobile related questions...First, if I try EDGE on the iphone without changing the plan first (just to see if it works) should I only enter wap.voicestream.com or do I have to put in other things?? I see the Unlimited internet is available for me for $19.99 same as BB plan.

Also, what about the whole MyFavs plan... I'm on a myfavs plan. Do I need to switch the plan? Of course the iPhone is not a myfavs phone, but I know the numbers are in T-mobile's system in regard to calculating my minute usage in and out of my favs. So will this present a problem? Do I need to switch?
