Headphones inserted but no sound?
HEY GUYS,
im having quite a bit of a problem with my iphone. although i dont think this has anything to do with the problem i have a native 1.1.2 iphone, restored to 1.1.4 and used iplus to unlock----working just fine. the only problem is that since the beginning of july there is no sound coming out of the phone. when i press the volume buttons on the side it says " ringer (headphones)". so i assume the iphone is detecting headphones, but there are no headphones inserted. this is quite annoying since i can only speak on the phone with loudspeaker and can't play music unless i have headphones. i also tried restoring the phone but nothing happens.
please someone tell me uy have the solution for this!!!
thank you
K.!

Make sure the hole for headphone output is clean from dust. I just blow air hard into it every once in a while.

i tried everything.
restored....blew into it. and also did the insert and take out headphones about 200 times but it still doesnt work. what should i do?!

I had this problem. I suspected it was something with how the iPhone stops playing music if you yank the headphones out while its playing.
Try this a few times...play music with headphones attached, then pull it out, and put it back in. Hopefully that will reset the headphone detection like it did for mine.

I had this problem before.
I tried everything but nothing worked.
In the end, I got so fed up, I tried every single headset I had, filing each to make them fit.
In trying, I plugged one headset that, somehow, cleared the problem. I tried original headset and it worked.
I believe this has to do with the iPhone sensing disconnect headsets. If you pull out your headset in the middle of playing music, it stops.
I believe, if you try different headsets, or a paperclip if you have a steady hand and you are at the end of wits like I was, you can reset it. I think it is at the end of plug tip. Well, it worked for me. ** Paperclip is the last resort, of course. **
Good luck.
iPhone : 3.1 2G: Back on slow lane.
