ssh would be open for attacks if for say i was at a wireless free zone ,
seems the iphone could be attacked and used by someone else to make calls on you phone or steal you stuff.

Think about this. How many people at a wireless hotspot are going to have iPhones? Why would it be worth someones time to devolop a hack to use your iPhone and then wait for you to connect just to make a call and steal your music? I think your too paronoid.

First if you don't want people to get inside your phone, you'll have to change the default password, it is very simple.

SSH inside your phone and type this

    Code:
    passwd
It's gonna ask you to type the new password.

    Don't forget it !

Now SSH is pretty much more secure than Bluetooth.
I don't think Mr John Doe can get in easily...
