Quite easy: Disable CommCenter on your iPhone:
    - Download and/or open the file /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist on your iPhone
    - Add <key>Disabled</key><true/> just above the text </dict> on the second last line (last line being </plist>)
    - Save file and/or upload it back
    - Restart iPhone

The CommCenter is connected to the /dev/tty.baseband so it's busy. Disabling it allows you to connect via minicom.
After successfully unlocking your phone just remove the line you inserted and restart the iPhone again.
Another hint: while CommCenter is disabled the iPhone doesn't produce any sounds, keyboard clicks etc. So don't bother about that.

    Good luck!

I'm already trying without sim card... I'm running it over wlan with putty (minicom -s).
there you can change the settings to tty.baseband.

    Thank you Diet, it worked!

minicom: cannot open /dev/tty.baseband: Resource busy

Same thing here, I downloaded the CommCenter to my desktop and deleted (temporary) from the iPhone.

    mkdir /usr/local/etc will fix that.
(and maybe mkdir /usr/local if you don't have that neither)

to stop CommCenter, you can also use "launchctl" (its in the ramdisk if its not already on your iPone) and type "remove com.apple.CommCenter". Useful if you only want to disable it once and have it reenabled at next boot.

PS: Hardware unlock works fine. We already did 5 phones. Time drops. Trickiest case is to open the case. Soldering is a piece of cake if you have the right tools (if not, your'e in trouble). Greetings from Switzerland
