Hardware Unlock Results In No Service.. Help Please :-(
Hi all,
I followed the Hardware Unlock Tutorial (to use a vodafone.de SIM, Firmware 1.0.2).
Everything seemed to work perfectly - Step 10 ended in a "0" as an answer.
After iAsign (--automatic & given private key), I get no error (seems SIM is being accepted) and unlock with my PIN.
But all I get now is "no service" showing up in the upper left corner.
Settings - Carrier leads to Automatic/Manual. No Network name shows up.
When I select Manual, I get "Network lost - Your selected network is no longer available. You can choose a new network in the phone settings."
When powering off & on again, I enter my PIN and get some bars (showing no signal) on the top left. Then a message pops up "Waiting for AT&T activation - This may take some time".
Things like WLAN work perfectly.
Anyone any idea, please.. I cannot find a way out. Restored Firmware (1.0.2) a few times and activated again. But seems like no chance.. Help :-(
Thank you all,
-Flo-

have you activated your phone with the right iccid of your new sim-card?

-
have you put back the commcenter.plist or removed the disable key??

Hi,
Just enter recovery mode, restore with iTunes, reactivate and the signal will be alright.
I guess is some kind of side effect of the whole procedure.
If you have old modem version (3.12), use the first firmware release for update,
otherwise the patch will be overwritten.

Hi,
just testing around..
are you guys getting network signal even without the rear cover?
Looks like the middle screw leads to something like an antenna..
