Half my disc space is gone

I just the ziphone unlock, jailbreak... etc.

When I plug my phone into my laptop and itunes is on it says that I am using 4.5gigs of space under the other category.

Any idea why and how can I reclame the space.

heydaveyboy I have a similar question regarding space.. my total free space in itunes is 7.27 GB.. where is the remaining space? (as its an 8 GB iPhone)

You didnt erase your music from the past firmware.

In my case I restored to 1.1.4 before applying Iplus, so I erased my mp3s, right?

Download the BossTool from the appinstaller and run the wipe ipod. It removes all the music and videos and crap. Does not affect phone numbers and stuff. I got all of my freespace back. As for why you don't have the full 8gigs is because of system files, etc. The iphone is actually partionned and has space reserved for ringtones etc...
