I think it is real. May be you can ask someone on IRC to confirm it is no fake. I know for a fact that the dev team is working on a GUI app and it the same screenshot can be seen on engadget. But I am not sure if the posted file is not a scam.

    Hi

I am doing the update now, I will let you know in 10-15 minutes.

By the way, I had to CHMOD the files, otherwise the Unlock.app went back to Home screen from showing a big white screen only.

    After

    chmod -R +x /Applications/Unlock.app

it all works fine. I will report when it finished,

    Ben

I used the GUI, it worked fine.

I got a little worried when I ran it, as my phone went to sleep, and I had to turn it back on, but it didn't seem to affect the unlock. It eventually finished (i kept touching the screen to make sure it wouldn't go back to sleep), and then I rest my phone and everything worked.

    ciao

And for those that don't know, you can turn that off in the Settings. This way you can just walk away from your phone and don't have to worry about it going to sleep.

    Hi

This is what I did from a Brand new boxed iPhone after opening it.

Started up, verified working. Installed iTunes 7.4.1.2 or which ever is the latest. I shut down iTunes, and the phone too. I pressed the HOME key, and while pressed, connected the USB cable. This put it in restore mode.

Then started iTunes, and it downloaded the 1,0.2 firmware, and installed it. Then reboot, and used the following method, all with Phone on and iTunes shut, but phone connected.

First I used the AppTapInstaller.exe, straight forward, select 1.0.2 as your Firmware, and click next etc etc.

Then I used the Activation plus Youtube activation combo, with the name of "(CLICK HERE) activate.bat"

This I pressed, went through all the steps, took a note that the maker was a Brazilian and was done with Activation.

Installed on the phone the BSD subsystem, the community sources, SSH and mobile terminal.

With the WinSCP I connected to the phone, and copied the unlocker as per the instructions. Then rebooted, and nothing Unlocker didnt work. Did a quick

    chmod -R +x /Applications/Unlock.app

from the Mobile Terminal, rebooted, started the unlocker and bumm. Its free.

Too bad my iPhone is defected with a bad screen. Dont know what to do But nevertheless unlocking works

    Cheers

    Ben
