Bravo Snowbird! I think the above post should be required reading to anyone before posting to this board. That's the most rational explanation for the delays so far.

Its about the money. Always will be, kids.

Now everybody go give $20 to the Dev team.

Final point, re: the 48-72 hour release delay. Clearly iPhoneSimFree.com has contacted both Apple and AT&T via their lawyers and informed them of their intensions to begin selling this software, as per standard protocol. As per US laws, failure to respond to a direct mailing within 72 hours can be viewed as an acceptance of sorts, contrary to the “silence does not equal acceptance rule” that we’re all familiar with.
Both iPhoneSimFree and Apple/AT&T will try to use this email to their advantage.

Problem is that Apple/AT&T will not respond and then will “wait and see” if the software really exists. And that point, I wouldn’t want to be iPhoneSimFree…..

    Incredible.

So you wouldn't support a team that would provide a legal and free version of the unlock? You'll just sit around and wait for a company that (may or may not) have the solution to the unlock as they try to decide how much to charge you, legally? Which they may (or may not) have any legal rights to?

Hey, I'm frustrated too at their lack of announcements. They were going gangbusters there for a while and now pfft-ptooie.

They're probably not making any headway because they've run out of resources.

Geo hots blog even said a software solution may be released within a week. Instead they broke their time line by days and gave us the hw unlock ahead of time.

Mainly I think because the software unlock was not even near complete.

But I thank and still do thank everyone who has contributed to the cause. The dev team especially and also gehot and everyone else providing free information.

Seriously I gave my 2 cent on the news part before.

We will tell i f there is something interesting to tell. I don't know what people expect. If I really report you any byte I see a day, I would be rather threw away important time I can for research. Seiously noone sees a value in this.
I can tell you we are working, well but that won't statisfy you I think but I don't know what I should tell you so you are happy.

There is no more really important to publish atm, thats why no news. The tool was just released casue iZsh had it lying around and wrote for his own purpouse earlier. People had the problem so there was give a anyways existing solution to it.

The problem I have with the moaning on the news all the time is that seriously the time I or any other team member spends on research is own, private, free time, for a public, free and valuable solution for everyone.

The next project I do I will write a random trash news gnerator before and put up a blog for it showing random 31337 text and uber 31337 pics each day.

Sure we need a software unlock solution, sure we can wait for it from the Dev team, if iphonesimfree dont release the software, but, communication is the base of the support !

I can support, i can donate, you can communicate !

There are two things that need to be ready: 1) the software (a working version), 2) the setup to grab the money.
It makes perfect, perfect sense that the second, in this very specific case, it's quite complicated. Whoever (if ever) sell a software unlock for something popular as the iphone must better cover itself with all the legal potential problems that they might have. This means where do they place servers in the world, etc. Plus, they must setup themselves for a something like a 48 hour rush (time that it could make some hackers to crack the system).

Do the math before saying something stupid.
    1) If you sell the thing in ebay you give the software in advance to someone, so that he has time to crack it and then sell it even before you do...very smart indeed.
    2) Let's say you sell 10 iphones in Ebay by 2,000$ each (!!!). Thats something like a 20,000 gross profit. Very smart investment of your time....do you know how much profit you make if you sell, say, 10,000 license (ten thousands...) at 30$ each? 600,000 dollars. If you have the software unlock the dumbest thing you can ever do is to sell single units via ebay. You obiously want a fast and reliable e-platform that allow you to sell as much units as possible as fast as you can.

Got me thinking: All these issues iPhoneSimFree & uniquephones have with AT&T, if the unlock software is sold to the non-us market, could AT&T still sue these fellows? AT&T exclusivity only applies to the US no?

Your right I didn't think correct. I am not obsessed with greed as many of these people are. I was probably telling it from my perspective. (Not an attack on you)

But you could be a little less insulting. It's late here, I have put many hours into a free guide for everyone. Sometimes I see it from a different view. All the stuff I have done is for free, I don't even care about payment.
But your right, if you could make a dollar I am sure anyone would take the chance.

If I ever sold it to you, I doubt you would crack it before someone else does and pirates it on the net. But, I would be keen to see your new Ferrari, personally I would invest the money.
