GPRS/Edge settings after unlock?
Looking at the settings on my activated iphone, I can't see anywhere to configure the data profiles. I assume this is because apple has hard coded them for AT&T.
Has anyone investigated how difficult it will be to change these for other providers? Is it something as simple as a plist file? Or will it require custom firmware for each provider?

You just need to edit /var/root/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist (text file)

Am I not correct when I assume the iPhone can't do GPRS ?

i'm fairly sure edge is just a tweaked/enhanced GPRS, and it's likely that even in the US, the iPhone supports GRPS already as a fallback when the EDGE network is not available.
I suspect that you would see a little "G" at the top of the screen instead of "E". Can anyone confirm?

Wow. It's really all just sitting there, isn't it?
That was my main worry with getting the phone for use in the UK. I have supreme confidence in the devteam actually unlocking the phone, but I was worried that configuration for different mobile networks was going to be a pain.
Thanks!

it definitely seems to be sitting there alright.
First time viewing the file via my SSH connection, I saw this:
<key>apn</key>
<string>wap.cingular</string>
<key>password</key>
<string>CINGULAR1</string>
<key>username</key>
<string>WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM</string>
it made me smile.
Also, the damm thing supports IPv6 off the bat,
