Default [Gophone] How to get rid of the Balance messages ?

O, so i took the initiative to go out and buy a iPhone from our local AT&T store, The reps at our store are awesome, she even knew what i was going to do with it. And asked me to bring it in and show her what i came up with.

So i take it home, run the whole nine yards with ZiPhone on it, and go out to Walmart and buy a gophone. So its all good, pay 40 bucks a month for unlimited Edge and text,

    [PROBLEM]
Stupid Balance Messages are becomming a pain in the ass. At first its not bad, but for every incoming and outgoing text it pops up.

Ive been searching around the web for a while, and came up with the conclusion that its a sim card function, but i dont think this is so. i think thiis network end, due to the fact i had the original sim card that came in the iphone activated as a gophone for a short amount of time. And this still happened.

So is there a way to completly remove all network messages from the phone?

ive tried blocking some different numbers lik *777# (Balance) but no cigar.

C'mon guys. I know there are alot of people having this same exact problem. And i know there is someone who has an idea as to how to fix it.

    Thanks

I did too with gophone, but have any of you guys noticed that the edge on the prepaid network is a LOT slower that other people you know on the contract network with edge?

What kind of speed are you getting (Kbps) if you check on a site like iphonenetworktest.com?
I've notice that my speed was real erratic too.

Two different ATT reps told me this was because they put more money into the contract network and it gets upgraded more often due mostly to the fact that the majority of their customers are on this network.

I noticed that once I called customer service and had them add the 1000 text plan for $9.99, the balance messages stopped coming for texts, both incoming and outgoing. However, they still come after phone calls.

I do agree that there has to be some way to disable that notification on the phone end of it as I know its a system message that is automatically sent.
