Google Launchs IMAP for Gmail and Posts Video How to set it up on iPhone

Finally!! Google has started rolling out IMAP in Gmail. They posted a video too on how to set it up on the iPhone.

If you are wondering what is the difference between IMAP and POP3 and what are IMAP's advantages, you can check out this wikipedia article.

By the end of this weekend, all accounts should have IMAP.

It WORKS!!!!
There is a BUG!
after entering all your info it will verify and tell you that it didnt work and ASK you if you want to disable SSL ,,,,, SAY NO!!!!
Then it will ask if you want to SAVE .. Say YES!!!!
Thats it go to mail and let it try fromthere and it will work .. !!!!!

Great info!

Soon all my accounts will be IMAP.

I just hope someday people will start using IMAP + quota and finally get rid of POP.
IMAP is soooo much better than POP in respect to usage from multiple places. No need to replicate email data over multiple computers.

But, too bad that the iPhone does not implement IMAP IDLE..... too bad.
