About LinkBacksSorry but i just can't seem to find what i am looking for
Originally i was waiting for the 3G release.. but what the hell... on 2nd thoughts.. i don't really need it anyway.
I don't live in the States, but i have a friend in San Francisco and i can arrange for her to help me get 1, and have it shipped over to me. Thing is, the iPhones in all the apple stores online or otherwise will be shipping with 1.1.3 by now right? So, is it a good time to get 1? I know there's no software unlock solution at the moment, but i am prepared to get a sim solution.
So am i to understand, that i have to downgrade to 1.1.2, jailbreak it, and then update to 1.1.3? I cant just simply jailbreak it out of the box right?

nope its a restore to 1.1.1 then the *#307# thing then oktoprep then update to 1.1.2 then run jailbreak.jar

Which then after that, upgrade back to 1.1.3? Then it would be usable with a sim solution?

Right. Does that mean sim solutions will work with downgraded 1.1.3 OTB iphones? Either 1.1.1 or 1.1.2? The latest latest BL & BB wont matter right?
