Default God! I just got a dead Pixel.

i am from Singapore and been using the iPhone for 2 months now. I just noticed that i got a dead pixel on my screen yesterday. After emo-ing for awhile, i did some google searches and the only possible solution is to replace it with Apple? However, iPhone will not be here officially till next year. I will be going to London for holidays for about a month. Is the ANY way at all that I can replace my iPhone there? Btw, I did not receive any warranty card from Apple in my iphone box. Just some warranty notices. Do they check my serial or IMEI to determine my warranty status?

I'm afraid if you bought your iPhone in the US you will have to contact them to get your iPhone replaced. I may be wrong though, but that was what happened when I got problem with my Mac bought in the US, I contacted Apple Australia and they forwarded me to their US counterpart. Good luck mate

Oh man. Meaning I got to go to US to replace it? I was under the impression that Apple warranty is International?

i don't think on a product that was sold in the US with the intention to use the iphone there on its business partners (at&t) services.

nor if its hacked in anyway (you actually void all warranty by tampering with it according to apple)

best bet would be to virginize, restore, and call in and send it in, say you got it as a gift, and that you are in the states, and now want to activate it (lie and say, to use in the USA on AT&T of course ) and realized the dead pixel and wanted a replacement, (but you will get a 1.1.2 unfortunately)

is it a truly dead pixel or a stuck pixel? if i remember correctly there was an app somewhere that flashed through multiple colours to "unstick" a stuck pixel...
problem is I can't remember exactly where I saw this
might give that a try before any warranty issues. I don't think, though, that you could use your warranty on your trip to the UK, in any case you would not (currently) be able to unlock your phone when you return to Singapore.

    alvar,

Thank you for the ebapspace's fix.

I do have a dot of stuck pixel on my screen too (Blue in color). Funny thng is that this blue dot appears on and off. Sometimes, it was there and other time, it wasn't there! The worst timing was it appears when I'm watching video on my iphone @#$!

Anyway, I'm now repairing it and hopefully it fix my blue's stck pixel.

    Cheers! :p

i used to work in apple reseller in Australia about a year ago.
we did not turn away any international apple products from being repaired.
and any parts ordered against the serial number of the international item were correctly picked up by apples ordering system and not charged for.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Do they need the receipt? Or do they just check the serial number? Coz I do not have a receipt.
