    Default ghost for iphone 3g

Is there a way of saving my complete iphone 3g with all the data to a ipsw file or some other type of file for a restore if needed?
    Thank you.

    Hi shimrob,

iBaRes 2.4.1 is actually & IMHO the only best free & reliable Backup/Restore solution with iTunes :

All your previously JBroken Apps! Kerry, the dev is a very nice & responsive guy just to let you know

iBares works with iPhone & iPod v 2.2. Since I have no time now to get into details check out his Google group :

"iBaReS is an easy to use integrated tool for backup and restore of iPhone and iPod Touch via Wireless LAN"

    link to iBaRes

=> Of course, needless to say you still need to sync with iTunes before

Both are working very well with me without any trouble. Check it out

FYI, My configuration: MacOSX 10.5.6 + iPhone 16Go 2.2.1 JBroken with PwnageTool 2.2.5. Works like a charm. Easy & above all very fast !

Hope it helps & feel free to ask whatever you want regarding this,

    MF

    @ macfr3ak

I don't know what you are linking us to? but its not going to do what the OP is asking, he wants a tool to create a custom payloaded IPSW.

As fair as I know pwnagetool is the closes thing you can use but it would not recovery 3rd party apps automatically from restore.

    @ n350z,

Sorry fo only answering you now since yesterday evening like I mentioned to shimrob, I was really busy & on the rush !

OK now, back to his question: "Is there a way to save either my complete iPhone and all datas to an ipsw file OR some other type of file for a restore if needed?"

Do we agree on this ?

Sure, it's not a "pwnagetool solution". There's already PwnageTool 2.2.5 or Quickpwn. No question about it. You did mention it even though I never did it so IMHO, I thought it's wiser and smarter to answer to his "another way" question, are we still agree ?

In a nutshell, I found out for him a very good alternative way (iBaRes in this case) which works AND fullfilly meets his request. Period.

I don't know if you had time to take a look at the Google group, this one can perform a complete backup/restore in symbiosis with iTunes.

Just to let you know, I use it to recover all my files (3rd Parties included from Cydia & "automatically from restore" ! ) with it. No complains from v2.2 to 2.2.1 for instance. Some minors rsync drawbacks but nothing serious. You can check the site out. It just works.

So basically, I was linking him to the right way & to a free legal developer site so I still don't understand why did you removed it ? Any reasons ?

Anyway, I really hope it's a bad misunderstanding between you & me or I might improve my English as I'm a pure French native guy but frankly, I fully answered him and I'm pretty sure this is the best app ever to accomplish this for many.. many iPhone AND Mac users !

BTW, the only mistake I did that you could have pointed it out to me is this missing question in this matter: is he on MacOS X or not ?

    Cheers Mate,

    MF

maybe someone can come up with a full proof way of taking the original IPSW + current iphone and make a new custom ipsw that uses whats on the iphone
Get the latest info for NoAccSplash Here
Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x

i honestly hate it when the tool comes out for mac first.... (yea i know the iphone is an apple device so mac is first)
cuz the ports take a lot of effort to create, take winpwn for example
    too bad no update
