Default [General] What to do with 1st Gen iPhone?

Once I get around to going to the store and upgrading, I'm wondering what to do with the original phone. I see a few options:

    1: sell it on ebay

2: give it to my kid to use as a phone. To do this, I'd have to PWN it and then let him use it with his ATT SIM. But I don't want to have any data plan on his line so is there a way that I can completely turn off EDGE and any other data connections? Can I build that into a custom PWN build (for either 1.4 or 2.0)

3: give it to my kid to use as an ipod touch. To do this, can I just take the SIM out of it? Is there a way to remove all of the phone-related icons from the springboard?

    thoughts?

I'd Keep it for testing new apps & jailbreaks b4 risking my new one.

But yes you can hide things with tools like proof in the BossPrefs app

    I would keep it.
As n350z says, install BossPrefs and then turn off the services
    that you don't need/require.
